MTA = WTF

If I can't get my own personal bailout, give it to the frickin' MTA! This proposed 30% fair hike couldn't come at a better time! Shouldn't a nation-wide depression make things cheaper? Go here to tell Albany to Halt the Hike.

Heres a better idea to raise revenues instead of boosting the fares. Ticket every driver that idles their engines. Its already law - you cannot idle your engine for more than 3 minutes. Unfortunately it is not enforced. I cannot walk down the street without seeing somebody sitting in their car, drinking coffee, eating or napping while keeping their engine on. I guess they never heard of global warming.

As a former New Yorker (state, not city) did anyone in Albany ever have and real concept of Economics - including depression!!

If you want to see what New York will look like in 10-15 years, visit Detroit.

I was very confused when watching NY1 on Friday in which they covered the proposed fare hike and the MTA's deficit...then a minute later... did a story on how the MTA may be approving a spend to buy new '3 door' buses? I see this alot where the MTA cries poor, then right aftet that mentions big spends? I think we need a new MTA Board or they need a better PR firm.
